Copa America Groups
Group A
Country | FIFA Ranking | Finish Copa America 2016 | Best Finish |
Brazil 🇧🇷 | 3 | Group Stage | Winners (x8) |
Bolivia 🇧🇴 | 63 | Group Stage | Winners (1963) |
Venezuela 🇻🇪 | 29 | Quarter Finals | Fourth Place (2011) |
Peru 🇵🇪 | 21 | Quarter Finals | Winners (x2) |
Group A consists of the hosts and Copa America favourites Brazil who are expected to get out of the group with relative ease.
Despite the question marks surrounding their performances at previous Copa America tournaments as of late, the combination of a strong attack and home support should see them through.
The 2018 World Cup in Russia last summer was a big one for Peru. Los Incas fought hard with an amazing home support and were unlucky not to make it out of their group.

Group B
Country | FIFA Ranking | Finish Copa America 2016 | Best Finish |
Argentina 🇦🇷 | 11 | Final | Winners (x14) |
Colombia 🇨🇴 | 12 | Third Place | Winners (2001) |
Paraguay 🇵🇾 | 36 | Group Stage | Winners (x2) |
Qatar 🇶🇦 | 55 | Did not enter | - |
All eyes will be on Argentina in Group B. They endured a terrible World Cup last summer in Russia with many of their star players under performing and receiving a whole heap of criticism to go with it.
Success with the national team has so far eluded star talent Lionel Messi and he'll be hoping to go one further than before and claim the trophy as his one this summer.
The Colombians led by main man James Rodriguez will be hoping to go all the way and will certainly fancy their chances making it out of this group.
Two time winners Paraguay are not having the best of times as of late. They've only managed to win one in their last seven.
First time invitees and hosts of the next World Cup Qatar are only in the Copa America as a publicity stunt. The Qataris have advanced considerably in recent years and they will arrive in Brazil as Asian Champions. Still, South America is a whole different prospect.

Group C
Country | FIFA Ranking | Finish Copa America 2016 | Best Finish |
Uruguay 🇺🇾 | 6 | Group Stage | Winners (x15) |
Ecuador 🇪🇨 | 59 | Quarter Finals | Fourth Place |
Japan 🇯🇵 | 26 | Did not enter | Group Stage |
Chile 🇨🇱 | 15 | Winners | Winners (x2) |
Group C is arguably the trickiest group to get out of. Ecuador are without a doubt the weakest, but the remaining three teams all have either World Cup experience, world class players, or like Chile, are defending champions.
Japan surprised everyone at the World Cup by making it to the knockout stage. It remains to be seen what they can muster up in their second Copa America appearance.
Uruguay topped their group in Russia and waved bye bye to Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal only to be defeated by eventual world champions France. Not bad at all. Star man Luis Suarez will be doing everything he can lead his country to victory.
Defending champions Chile disappointed their fans by not making it to the World Cup Finals in Russia but they should never be underestimated. They're going for a treble of Copa Americas this time round but something feels it might just be a stretch too far for a team that's been beaten by the likes of Paraguay and Bolivia in recent times.
