Little to choose between European pretenders
Seventh take on eighth when Wolverhampton Wanderers visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon to play a Spurs side reeling from a 3-2 defeat to Southampton in the Premier League. The visitors have struggled all season to score consistently, a factor only equalled by how well they have defended. Read our preview here:
Bent into a new shape
The January transfer window saw more outgoings than incomings for Antonio Conte, but the new recruits in midfield are more like the kinds of players he wants to have at the club in the long-term. Dejan Kulusevski will probably have to make do with a place on the bench at the weekend, but Rodrigo Bentancur is in line to make his full debut. The hosts have been crying for someone who can carry the ball from the middle third reliably and with purpose all season long, and he should certainly fit that bill. Of more immediate concern however is the need to find a way to break the press sides put them under, as Southampton did so effectively in midweek.
Chiq lit
Bruno Lage's charges couldn't find a way through 10-man Arsenal in the last 20 minutes of their Thursday tussle, but should find the Gunners' north London rivals less stout in that regard. Recent signing Chiquinho could be handed his first start in old gold, lining up on the right of a front three. He'll be tasked with providing greater productivity than his immediate predecessor Adama Traoré, and should find some joy in between the lines and up against Ben Davies on the dribble.
Betting tip
The fixture doesn't have the makings of a classic, despite the talent on show in both squads. Spurs are still far too inconsistent to mount a serious challenge for a top four place, and Wolves simply don't score enough goals to share those aspirations. bet365 have odds of 3.75 for a draw.
