Value on the visitors to Goodison Park
Everton host Leicester City on Saturday evening in aiming to build on back-to-back clean sheets in the Premier League.
The Toffees picked up a goalless draw at Fulham last time out, where Leicester City were undone by a tremendous Kevin De Bruyne free kick to lose 1-0 at home to the champions Manchester City.
Brendan Rodgers is slowly turning things around with the Foxes and they look far better in defence than they did in the opening month or so of the campaign.
Everton have been fairly strong at home this season but are considerably overperforming in the defensive third, the market is still hesitant to look too kindly on the Toffees under Frank Lampard, but they are only narrow favourites at Goodison Park.
Process
The Foxes were very impressive against City at the King Power Stadium and need a positive result to pull themselves out of the bottom three.
Leicester did offer an attacking threat on the counter attack through the likes of James Maddison and Harvey Barnes, with Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho making an impact from the bench.
The Toffees have remarkably conceded just 12 goals from 23.3 expected goals (xG) against so far this season, with Jordan Pickford playing out of his skin and confirming his status as England’s first choice goalkeeper ahead of the World Cup.
Everton are still trending like a side who will be dragged into a relegation battle at some point in the season, it is mainly down to poor finishing and the performances of Pickford as to why they are three points above the relegation zone.
That could all change very quickly as the Foxes leapfrog the Toffees and completely turn the tables in victory.
There is value on the visitors here, especially with their improved defensive process of the last few weeks.
Goals?
A goal-laden game seems unlikely, Lampard remains fairly pragmatic and would probably not be too disappointed to take a point from the game.
