Hard to separate Premier League pretenders
Chelsea and Manchester United do battle at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday as the nights start drawing in. The two sides are both in good form, with the visitors unbeaten since their derby walloping by neighbours Manchester City. Read our preview here:
He's a Kepa
The once much-maligned Kepa Arrizabalaga has possibly been the hosts' best player so far in 2022/2023, and his reputation was further rehabilitated with some excellent saves to preserve a clean sheet and a point in the midweek fixture against fellow London outfit Brentford. Graham Potter might have to contend without Conor Gallagher after the central midfielder came off in the first half of that fixture unwell. Mateo Kovačić should replace him, but the struggle remains scoring frequently and consistently, even with the presence of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Don't Ron-Ron
Meanwhile, much of the many column inches dedicated to the Red Devils have been about the behaviour of Cristiano Ronaldo, rather than about Erik ten Hag masterminding a tactical masterclass to see off Tottenham Hotspur. The megastar has been left out of the squad travelling to the capital after he left Old Trafford before even the full-time whistle blew after being an unused substitute. Without him, things on the pitch seem more fluid in the final third, with Bruno Fernandes more free to pull the strings behind a more selfless frontline containing Antony and Marcus Rashford.
