Spurs to get back on track at Turf Moor
Clarets in trouble at the foot of the table
Only Norwich and Newcastle are propping up Sean Dyche's side who sit 18th with just one win from their opening 12 games. They're holding out for draws so far, with half of their games ending level. But with just nine points so far, Burnley are looking as if they have a struggle to survive this gruelling Premier League season. The Clarets are actually unbeaten in their last four games, drawing three games against Crystal Palace, Southampton and impressively Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The other result was a rare win, beating Brentford 3-1. However, this unbeaten run doesn't look set to last, with recent history suggesting that Burnley could be on the end of their sixth loss of the season. They've lost four of their last five games against Spurs, and despite Turf Moor being where they usually cause teams issues, I can't see Antonio Conte's men folding under the aerial pressure their hosts will surely offer going forwards.
Spurs to bounceback after midweek embarrassment
A 2-1 loss to Slovenian minnows NS Mura in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night showed the enormity of the task that Antonio Conte has on his hands to rebuild this Spurs side who looked void of confidence and passion midweek. They might not even qualify from their Conference League group, with a tie against table topping Stade Rennais to decide their fat. Domestically however, a 2-1 win over Leeds last weekend pushed Spurs up to 7th in the league and looking to build on a game where they came back from behind with two unlikely goalscorers in Pierre Emile Hoijberg and Sergio Reguilon ensuring all three points came Tottenham's way. An away trip to Turf Moor is the perfect opportunity for Conte to prove that his side are made of stronger stuff than they showed in midweek, otherwise it could be a long maiden season in North London for the Italian boss.
Burnley's steadiness at home has been brought into question recently. And with Spurs looking to bounceback after their troubles on the continent, I can see Spurs taking all three points here. That's why I'm backing a Spurs win with bet365.
