Son's still shining to boost Spurs' CL hopes
Tottenham Hotspur head to Birmingham to take on Aston Villa in the Premier League's Saturday early evening kick-off in confident mood. Antonio Conte's charges mauled Newcastle United last weekend 5-1, and, with more riding on this match than for the hosts, another precious win could be earned. Read our preview here:
Back in the swing of Ings
One player missing from the painful 2-1 West Midlands derby defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers was Danny Ings, who was instead celebrating the birth of his child. Manager Steven Gerrard missed his clinical presence up top, and he should be back to reunite the dangerous trio also containing Ollie Watkins and Phillipe Coutinho. Elsewhere, Ashley Young is set to continue at left-back, and will be hoping for more luck than was available to him at Molineux.
Sonaldo by any other name
Conte had five different names on the scoresheet last time out, and whilst that's unlikely to repeat itself very often, it did highlight reasons to be more bullish about the talent available to him this term before an inevitable flurry of activity this summer. Matt Doherty was surprisingly deployed on the left side to great effect, though he will be up against Matty Cash if chosen there again. Heung-min Son needs four more league goals to beat his best ever tally in English football, and can count on both better supply out wide and a revitalised Harry Kane to help him do that.
Betting tip
Son has an excellent tendency to keep motoring on until the very end of matches, and with that mind, bet365 are offering odds of 7.00 for his name to be the last on the scoresheet.
