Newcastle to muscle in on Premier League race
Newcastle United travel to the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night to take on leaders Arsenal in the Premier League. Combined, the sides have lost just twice between them, and with the Toon Army's mean defence, they might just spring a surprise and close in on the pacesetters. Read our preview here:
Ode to joy
Mikel Arteta's side are flying at present, and not even Brighton & Hove Albion's best efforts last time out could derail them, with the Gunners eventually prevailing 4-2. Martin Ødegaard has been in imperious form, conducting much of the attacking play and bringing the other potent forwards into the picture.
New money for old Pope
Meanwhile, Eddie Howe's troops have surged up the table arguably ahead of expectations and 'schedule', and could have a big say in the destination of the championship in addition to harbouring hopes of their own at being in the Champions League next term. Their efforts have been built just as much on a defence excellently marshalled by England number two Nick Pope between the sticks as they have by the likes of Miguel Almirón in the form of his life. The visitors rarely concede, and even when they do, they even more rarely give up more than one.
Betting tip
bet365 have the visitors priced at 5.50 to defy the odds and make Arteta's men suffer a rare setback in the title race.
