Arsenal to maintain impressive PL start
Arsenal head to the south coast for the televised early evening kick-off on Saturday in the Premier League to take on newly promoted AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The Cherries have won one and lost one from their opening two, whilst the Gunners are the only side besides Manchester City to take maximum points from the first fixtures. Gabriel Jesus, signed from the reigning champions, has got off to a blistering start at the Emirates. Read our preview here:
Sir Kieff
Scott Parker's men won their first fixture against Aston Villa, but were understandably pegged back by City last weekend, losing 4-0 at the Etihad. The head coach still won't be able to choose either Joe Rothwell or Ryan Fredericks, so the pair, acquired in the summer, will have to wait a bit longer for their debuts. Elsewhere, Welsh international Kieffer Moore has already notched in his first taste of top tier football. The 30 year old target man will be looking to feed off Marcus Tavernier in particular in open play, and will be a permanent threat from set pieces. Dominic Solanke might be an option from the bench if he proves his fitness and Parker needs to switch things up in attack.
Gift of the Gab
On early evidence, Jesus looks like the missing link that Mikel Arteta's side were crying out for in the final third last season. A presence outside the box in the approach play, the Brazilian forward has helped share the creative burden with Martin Ødegaard and the rest of the exciting trio behind him in the 4-2-3-1 most often deployed, especially on the road. Indeed, Arteta has the luxury of naming an unchanged XI for their trip to the seaside, though Fábio Vieira, signed at great expense in the transfer window, isn't too far from making himself known to the fans.
Betting tip
bet365 have odds of 5.00 for Jesus to notch first in what might be a trickier game than most pundits suggest for Arsenal.
