The Grey Owls to fall further behind Trabzonspor
Runaway leaders Trabzonspor must see off the challenge of former champions İstanbul Başakşehir at the Şenol Güneş Stadium on Saturday afternoon if they are to increase the distance between themselves and the chasing pack. Read our preview here:
I, Cornelius
Abdullah Avcı has presided over a tremendous first half of the Süper Lig campaign, and his side currently enjoy a nine-point lead over second placed Konyaspor and a further four over their next opponents. This has largely been achieved because of a very mean defence, a unit that has conceded just 14 goals and tasted defeat once in the league to date. They are also no slouches at the business end of the pitch, with an exciting blend of youth and experience chipping in. Danish international Andreas Cornelius has hit nine, mainly as the sole striker in a pragmatic 4-1-4-1 formation, making the most of his aerial prowess and through balls fed to him by the likes of Nigerian winger Anthony Nwakaeme and the evergreen Marek Hamšík.
The Chad's still got it
Ay-Yıldızlılar playing legend Emre Belözoğlu has transferred his prestigious talent from on the pitch to the dugout, especially since being appointed to his current post at the start of October. He has yet to taste defeat in charge, and has turned around the disastrous start to the campaign in just 11 games, winning eight of them. Italian frontman Stefano Okaka also has accrued nine strikes, profiting handsomely from fellow veteran Edin Višća's vision and creativity. On the opposite flank is Nacer Chadli, who also contributes a lot to the approach play.
Black Sea storming
All good runs come to an end at some point, and there'd be no disgrace whatsoever for İstanbul Başakşehir were it to come at the hands of the current league leaders in Turkey. bet365 are offering longer than evens for Trabzonspor to grab all three points at 2.10.
