On fire and on form
Porto
It’s the first time since the Mourinho days that Porto have the chance of reaching a semi final. It could be a better situation for them considering they’re meeting a Liverpool side in fine form.
They went down away at Anfield without managing to score a goal, and even drawing them the year before they record a European record defeat to the English side.
Since that tumultuous night Port have been in solid form in Europe, only losing 2 of 10 matches.
But coming back to reality, with a two goal deficit, no away and coming up against Liverpool, it really does represent an almost unreachable challenge.
Liverpool
Liverpool are going into this strong with a 2-0 lead from the first match. On top of that Sunday’s win against Chelsea was a real show of power and performance.
It’s crazy if you think that if they keep on churning out results it still might not be enough to beat City to win the Premier League title.
The only danger of progressing through the Champions League is taking energy out of their domestic title fight.
Betting tip
Porto are exceptional at home and still have a lot to give, so it’s not exactly going to be a walk in the park for Liverpool. But at the same time it can. If Klopp and Liverpool continue to play the way they want they could breeze through it.
A Liverpool straight win at odds of 23/20 (2.15) represents a solid bet.
