Tenth PL draw just won't do for Newcastle
Newcastle United and Everton will meet at St. James' Park on Tuesday evening for a crunch Premier League clash. The Toffees came to life at the weekend with a convincing 4-1 home win over Brentford in the FA Cup under new head coach Frank Lampard, but the Magpies will be fresh and raring to go, too. We Do Talk About Bruno
The January transfer window did bring a significant influx of new faces to Tyneside (four permanently and one on loan), with each of them representing a significant upgrade on their immediate predecessors. Though none of them are quite the show-stopping signings some were craving, the acquisition of Bruno Guimarães from Lyon in particular should help them convert some draws into priceless wins. The deep-lying playmaker will give the likes of Joelinton and Joe Willock more license to get forwards, with target man Chris Wood able to help bring the runners from midfield into play.
To be Frank
A chaotic time at Goodison Park has seemingly been brought to an end with the appointment of former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard to the blue side of the city. The Bees represented relatively kind first opposition (given their own trials and tribulations at present), but the manner of victory was what was most impressive. Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek were both cup-tied at the weekend, but could both make their full debuts in a 4-2-3-1 that will favour progression through the middle.
Betting tip
Both sides will have a new look and feel about them on Tuesday night, and, with the hosts sitting in 19th and the visitors 16th, there is scant little time for them to get up to speed. Newcastle and Everton have found scoring regularly difficult for varying reasons up until now, but that should start to change in midweek. Casumo have odds of 3.40 for a draw that will suit neither side.
