Uniteds to stand together in entertaining draw
Manchester United welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford for one of several early Sunday afternoon kick-offs in the Premier League. The hosts eventually broke the deadlock against Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League, but will have to be far more accurate with far fewer chances for a repeat of that result when the Magpies take to the field. A serious Cas
Erik ten Hag will have to make do without both Scott McTominay (suspended) and Anthony Martial (knock), with the latter in particular being productive for the Red Devils of late as a real alternative up top to the frustrated figure of Cristiano Ronaldo. The midfield is likely to be anchored by Casemiro, who has a wealth of big game experience but may find he's the only natural defensive minded player in red in the front six who can intercept the counters by the opposition.
A new Wor Al
Alexander Isak hasn't been missed as much as most Toon Army fans would've feared. The last two league matches have seen them bag a total of nine goals, which is a level of attacking play not seen for years at St. James' Park. The Brentford own goal aside, five different players shared those strokes, with Miguel Almirón leading with three. The much-loved Paraguayan winger will fancy his chances of adding to his tally in a personal duel with an out-of-form Luke Shaw, though there are others, like the coveted Bruno Guimarães, for the home side to worry about.
