Leicester to further set back Utd's top four hopes

Manchester United and Leicester City meet in the Premier League for the early Saturday evening kick-off at Old Trafford with differing end of season goals. For the hosts, it has to be securing a Champions League place to help attract a new, permanent manager and aid in a major overhaul of the underperforming squad, whereas for the Foxes, their likeliest path to participation on the continental stage is to win the UEFA Conference League, unless they can make use of their games in hand for an unlikely charge up the table. Read our preview here:

Bruno at the double

In what has been an erratic campaign dogged by leaks and more recently, booing of Harry Maguire in an England shirt, one of the more consistent performers has been Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese playmaker capped off a very successful week helping Portugal reach the World Cup in Qatar by signing a new contract, doubling his salary in the process. More needs to be made at club level of his pairing with teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. Scott McTominay is set to be the only even slightly defensively minded midfielder in Ralf Rangnick's selection.

Evans above

With Wilfried Ndidi out for the season and Jamie Vardy still a number of weeks away from fitness, Brendan Rodgers must instead turn to other experienced hands in his squad for the on-field leadership needed to salvage something out of a desperately disappointing league season. Former Red Devil Jonny Evans should be the fulcrum of a three-man defence for his return to Stretford, and could be flanked by Wesley Fofana on his right. Youri Tielemans is certain to leave in the summer to avoid missing out on a fee for the hugely talented Belgian schemer, but his list of suitors will only grow if he can turn in performances more akin to those he managed with regularity in 2020/2021.

Betting tip

All is not well at Old Trafford. That is a sentence that could've been written at almost any point since Sir Alex Ferguson left nine years ago. Whilst on paper they should be competing with neighbours Manchester City and Liverpool for honours, it never seems to transpire, regardless of personnel or who's in charge. Leicester can hand them a further blow on Saturday with a win; betway have huge odds of 6.00 for the Foxes to smiling come full-time.
