It's now or never for Leicester City's CL hopes
Second meet fourth in the Premier League on Tuesday evening as the season starts to draw to a close. Manchester United fought back yet again from behind to claim victory, this time away to Aston Villa. That win, coupled with Leicester City's surprise collapse at home to Newcastle United, has almost certainly confirmed runners-up spot for the Red Devils, but they now must face the Foxes with Liverpool to come only 48 hours later. Ole Gunnar Solskjær will inevitably have to heavily rotate the squad for both games, and this one would make the most sense for a refresh. Read our preview here:
Amad for it
There will be few survivors from the weekend's win in Birmingham, with the bulk of the changes likely to come in the five-man midfield. Donny van de Beek has almost been solely utilised from the bench this term, but did get the full 90 minutes in the Europa League semi-final clash with Roma last week. Against Leicester, he could start once more, operating behind Mason Greenwood, who netted on Sunday. Elsewhere, Juan Mata will be handed a rare chance to roll back the years, and it will be him the hosts look to to unpick a suddenly suspect defensive line in blue. On the opposite flank, 18 year old Amad Diallo could get his full debut, and he'll enjoy the challenge of running with the ball beyond Ricardo Pereira and driving at Daniel Amartey. With the pressure off to secure results ahead of the Europa League final, United can play with a sense of freedom.
Luke's skywalking
Brendan Rodgers has two big considerations ahead of Tuesday: firstly, who to pick ahead of their own chance at a trophy against Chelsea this weekend, and secondly, how to nip the poor results in the bud now before it costs them a Champions League spot for a second year in a row. The whole defensive performance was beyond woeful versus Newcastle, and it's fair to say that even a completely new attack for United is more than a step above Steve Bruce's options. Luke Thomas came on when they were already 3-0 down, and could start as left wing-back at Old Trafford, and coming up against Mata and the more defensively minded Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be to his benefit. Expect also Jamie Vardy to get some respite ahead of the FA Cup showdown, but with Kelechi Ihenacho in red hot form still, that might not be the hamstring it could've been earlier on in the campaign.
The Foxes and the hounds
The psychology going into this fixture from a Leicester cannot be underestimated. Their last three remaining games take in United, Chelsea (just three days after the final), and Tottenham Hotspur on the last day. Only against the latter at the present time could they be confident of getting something, and that bizarre reverse to Newcastle might've really knocked their confidence. However, they do have the 'benefit' of having been in this situation before, and they must now show that lessons have been learned. They've also bested Tuesday's opponents in the recent past, and their rivals will be fielding a distinctly weaker side. 888sport have odds of 2.90 for them to claim a win that would almost certainly seal fourth.
