Liverpool to heap more misery on Man Utd
Manchester United face their fierce rivals Liverpool this weekend. Will it be another unhappy Sunday for the Red Devils? Have a read of our preview here:
Sliding into mediocrity
Manchester United are terrible right now. There is no other way to put it that does not include words not suitable for this site. The Red Devils have never recovered from Alex Ferguson’s decision to retire and although it was always going to be tough to maintain the high standards he had impressed upon the side throughout his glorious tenure, this is a new low for club.
Just two wins in the opening eight games of the season makes for very poor reading and defeats to West Ham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle tells a story of a side in turmoil. The fact that Chelsea, under a transfer embargo, and the likes of Burnley are ahead of United is worrying even at this early stage.
There is an increasing sense that Solskjaer’s time in charge is all but over and they will be onto another coach sooner rather than later. The big question is whether there is any manager capable of getting the club back to their previous heights while the current structures are in place as they are. The anti-Glazier feeling amongst sections of the support are getting louder as results on the pitch continue to falter.
This could be a long and embarrassing season for Manchester United and a top-four finish looks less likely than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seeing out the season right now.
Close to perfection
If United fans thought their season wasn’t bad enough they only have to glance up, really far up, the table to see the coattails of Liverpool hanging there at the summit. What a start it has been for the Reds, they are one of just two sides in the top four tiers of English football to remain unbeaten and the only one to have a 100% record.
Wins against Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester have been welcome and with Manchester United up next, closely followed by Spurs and Manchester City, it is a pivotal time for the Anfield club to prove their title credentials.
Manchester United v Liverpool betting tip
There really is only one outcome worth considering in this one given the current gulf in quality between these two clubs. That’s why we are tipping Liverpool to win at odds of 5/6 which is decent value here.

Manchester United were tactically spot on and nearly got the win but will settle for a 1-1 draw. Not the result we wanted here though.
