Crunch time at Old Trafford
Manchester United welcome one of, if not thee surprise packages of the season in Wolverhampton to Old Trafford on matchday 25 of the Premier League. United will be looking to build upon their win against their city rivals whilst the Wolves will be looking to exit their mini-slump.
Manchester United
The Red Devil's continue to frustrate with incredibly inconsistent performances. After back to back league defeats against Liverpool (2-0) and Burnley (0-2) the reds somehow managed to pull a rabbit from the hat with a win against rivals Manchester City at the Etihad in the league cup.
Inconsistency a problem
As i, and most probably a whole bunch of other people have previously touched upon, Ole's men have an incredibly high standard when in the right mood but also a ludicrously low level when not in the "zone".
United's home form is far from bad but is also not optimal for a team of their stature. With six wins, four draws and two defeats at Old Trafford the reds can be found at 5th in the home-table, only four points behind 2nd placed City. Their goal difference of 24-12 is not too shabby either proving that they really aren't the pushovers at home that they are on away turf.
A differentiator?
A huge boost whether he features or not against Wolverhampton will be the fact that Manchester United have finally signed Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lissabon thus ending one of the longest ongoing transfer sagas in history, he is the offensive midfielder they have been absolutely screaming for and will definitely slot right into my fantasy lineup.
Wolverhampton
Nuno Espirito Santo's Wolves have become a force to be reckoned with and have turned the Molineux into a fortress this season. However, this game takes place at an arena that might be in the middle of a dip but has historically been far more daunting and is nonetheless a hard place to travel to.
Hard to beat
Wolverhampton aren't too shabby on the road either with the stats of four wins, five draws and three defeats with the highlights being an away win at Manchester City and draws at Arsenal and Leicester.
Scoring ability
Wolves have managed to score in all but two of their away days which is a good omen regarding this matchup due to United's fragile backline and inability of keeping a clean sheet this season.
Another huge carrot on a stick is the fact that if Wolves win they will leapfrog Saturday's opponents into an outstanding 5th place.
Expect them to be revving to go in what will hopefully be a boiling Old Trafford.
Betting tip
United have no issues scoring but have problems going the other way whilst Wolverhampton are lethal on the counter but also have a habit of conceding which is why i will be backing Both teams to score at the fantastic odds of 9/10 with Betway.
