Blades to prolong Luton's frustrating league start
The throwback venue of Kenilworth Road is the venue for the Friday night EFL Championship clash between Luton Town and Sheffield United. The hosts have had a worse than expected opening five games, winning just once and scoring only three times, whilst the visitors have put the defeat against relegated Watford firmly behind them and now top the standings with 10 points. Morris minor
Nathan Jones' side are struggling for goals despite the acquisition of Barnsley centre forward Carlton Morris in the summer transfer window. The 26 year old has a solitary strike to his name in an orange shirt thus far, and has yet to forge much of an on-field rapport with Elijah Adebayo in the 3-5-2. With five senior faces missing from a squad that remains on the smaller side in terms of quantity for the second tier, their absences are affecting performances and results. Fellow new signing Luke Freeman has also had an underwhelming start to life in south Bedfordshire for the Hatters, failing to assert his authority in the middle of the park.
A smooth Sander finish
Meanwhile, Paul Heckingbottom (who, bizarrely enough, isn't judged on results by the board) has overseen a revival of fortunes for his charges, most notably with the comfortable 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers, who had been top of the tree previously. In spite of having half a dozen individuals also on the sidelines, the red and white half of the steel city continue to go from strength to strength, partly powered by Sander Berge's impressive displays alongside Iliman Ndiaye behind Oli McBurnie. The duo in the 3-4-2-1 already have five goals between them, with the former catching the eye on the dribble and his aerial prowess, an unusual combination for an attack-minded midfielder.
Betting tip
