Another goals galore?
Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield in what has been one of the most entertaining fixtures in modern time with 3 out of their 4 recent meetings racking up over 4 goals each. Can this new-look Arsenal shock Liverpool and win for the first time in 8 outings or will the reds demolish the Gunners yet again?
Liverpool
Jurgen and his men have, as expected, kicked off the season with 6 points out of 6 and even added another title to their trophy cabinet in the form of a UEFA Super Cup win against Chelsea.
Anfield has become an absolute fortress and is a daunting task for anyone and everyone to travel to, the psychological aspect of playing there is massive with the emphatic win against Barcelona in last years Champions League being the perfect example.
The depth they possess is pretty insane and can only be matched by Manchester City, the only important player missing is Alisson but Adrian has proved that he is a sufficient back-up so it really is not that big of an issue. Their have been a few red-flags regarding fatigue due to a few players barely having a summer break but that is more of an issue farther down the road.
The trio of Salah, Firminho and Mane look to be firing on all cylinders and when they do, no team is safe, especially a some-what unproven Arsenal defence.
Arsenal
Arsenal went from total losers to transfer champs in the space of 48 hours (give or take) after securing Pepe, Luiz, Ceballos and Saliba (for next season) and it shows. The gunners have 6 points out of a possible 6 and seem to have found their mojo.
This could be the season where Arsenal finally secure a top 4 finish, the 2 previous wins might only have been with a goals margin but do not be mistaken, those wins were well-deserved and the gunners dominated them thoroughly.
Ceballos was sensational against Burnley and looks exactly like Cazorla did in his prime, in other words, the type of player the Gunners have been absolutely yearning for. Lacazette and Auba picked up where they left off last season and Luiz has given a good impression alongside new centre-back partner Sokratis.
All in all i expect another electrifying game where Emery’s men might for the first time in a long time travel to Anfield and compete for real.
Betting tip
I expect this game to follow the trend which is why i will be backing over 2.5 goals at 43/100 with Bethard.
For those with the cojones over 3.5 goals at 11/10 looks very enticing too.
