Silverware on the line as Leicester host Chelsea
It’s FA Cup quarter-final time on Sunday with the three remaining ties taking place. Will it be Brendan Rodgers or Frank Lampard taking a side into the last four? Have a read of our preview here:
Is this Leicester side the real deal?
A slip in form just before the season went on pause led to many questions about the Foxes true credentials as a top-four team in the Premier League.
They have been superb for the most part this season and will have been disappointed with defeats to Burnley, Southampton and Norwich in recent matches.
The FA Cup is still a great opportunity for them to add another trophy to the Premier League title they bagged in 2016.
They have enjoyed a couple of decent ties already, beating Wigan at home 2-0 in the third round before having equal success against Brentford at Griffin Park in round four.
The fifth-round victory against Birmingham was hardly a thriller, Ricardo Pereira bagged the only goal of a rather stale game with just eight minutes to go.
Chelsea will be the first real test for a side that has been in the top-four nearly all season but whether Jamie Vardy and co. can overcome a team they have drawn with twice already during the campaign, remains to be seen.
Stuttering Chelsea hoping for success
Frank Lampard was so used to success during his time as a player, you’d forgive him for thinking a season without a trophy can be defined as a failure.
For those of us who support teams that only win a cup once…ever, it seems like Frank is being slightly impatient.
There is no doubt Chelsea will enjoy good times with Lampard at the helm and an FA Cup win this season could be just the start.
Leicester offer a stern test but having already knocked Liverpool out in the last round, the Blues will be feeling confident.
Nottingham Forest and Hull City were Chelsea’s first two opponents during this year’s competition but the win over Jurgen Klopp’s side is perhaps the highlight of the campaign so far for the Londoners.
Goals from Willian and Ross Barkley were enough to see them through in a match where their defence was probably the most impressive thing about the win.
They will be looking to serve up another top effort on Sunday.
Leicester City v Chelsea betting tip
Without fans the usually rocking King Power could feel a bit subdued on Sunday, but with nothing to lose for either side, we are backing both teams to score at odds of 1.7 with bet365 in this one.
