The Foxes and the Villains
Leicester welcome Aston Villa to the King Power Stadium on Monday evening during the last match of gameweek 29. Both teams will be desperate to turn their fortunes around having endured very torrid runs of form leading to the question, which of them will manage to exit their rut first?
Leicester
The Foxes have not won a game in 4 tries with their most recent setback being an embarrassing defeat to Norwich (1-0) leaving them 7 points behind Manchester City whom they were once neck and neck with.
Worrying dip in form
Things have been looking pretty glum for Brendan Rodgers men since mid December, so glum in fact that if the Prem began after the winter break Leicester would be down at a lowly 14th place.
Leicester have only won 3 out of their last 12 games and while they have gone up against some tough opponents in the form of Manchester City (twice), Liverpool, Chelsea and Wolverhampton they have also lost against the likes of Southampton, Burnley and Norwich meaning that all is far from well at the moment.
Very impressive statistics
Interestingly enough, Leicester still have the 3rd best defensive record in the league despite the fact that they have failed to keep a clean sheet in 7 tries. They have also managed to score the 3rd most goals meaning that they should not be underestimated no matter how bad their current form is.
Aston Villa
The Villains are looking down the barrel of a tricky relegation scrap with fixtures against a host of top teams left on their schedule meaning that every point they can get their hands on counts tenfold.
Good up front, horrible at the back
Despite the fact that Aston Villa have scored a respectable 34 goals in league play they can still be found second to last due to the absolutely shambolic statistic of having conceded 52 goals in 27 outings which is highest in the league.
Second worst away team
Things only get worse away from home where Dean Smith's men have amassed 2 wins, 2 draws and a whopping 10 defeats in league play which is the reason Aston Villa are so far down the standings and will be, without improvement, their demise.
Judgement day incoming
They now travel to a struggling Leicester side that have some worrying issues of their own and the question is, will they be able to get their act together and punish them the way Norwich did or will they fall to another defeat and a step closer to relegation?
Betting tip
