Goalfest at the Etihad?
Leeds face off against Manchester City on Saturday evening during match day 4 of the Premier League. Two legends and arguably the brightest tacticians in world football go head to head making this clash all the more interesting but who will come out on top?
Leeds
Marcelo Bielsa's and co. have kicked off their first top-flight season in 16 years very brightly beating both Fulham (4-3) and Sheffield United (0-1) but losing very narrowly to Liverpool (4-3) in their first 3 games.
Lethal Leeds
The defeat at Liverpool in the season opener shocked the footballing community, Leed's attacking style coupled with their never-ending pressure was the talk of the town. They could have, and should have walked off Anfield with at least a point which is definitely no small feat against one of the worlds absolute best sides.
Grinding out victories
Their victories against Fulham and Sheffield were also narrow, but were however well-deserved as Leeds showcased the fact that they can roll their sleeves up and get the job done if needed.
Potential
If Leeds manage to put on the same display against City that they produced against Liverpool, the Peacocks could very well snag themselves a point, or 3.
Manchester City
The Citizens have so far played 2 games this season with one ending in victory and the other in defeat. The defeat was well-deserved against a lethal Leicester side that constantly hit them on the counter whilst the win was barely fair against a Wolves side that spurned so many chances you would be forgiven for thinking it was on purpose.
Leaking ship
City's defence has been everything but stable after shipping 6(!) goals in their first 2 outings due to some extremely shaky defending. Guardiola's experimental pairing of Nathan Aké and Eric Garcia against Leicester was City's 4th different centre-back pairing in as many games which is in stark contrast to the perceived benefits of having continuity, something Pep's men seem to be having a hard time with.
Dangerous going forward
What City lack in their defence, they make up for in their goal-scoring ability. Pep's men have scored a healthy 5 in their first 2 despite injuries to both Aguero and Jesus proving that they are just as dangerous when playing the likes of Sterling as their preferred striker.
Betting tip
The pair of them have both scored and conceded a lot of goals in their initial fixtures which is why i will be backing Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at 1.80 with Betway.
