Mit-igating circumstances
The Cottagers have had a decent start of their own since being promoted back to the top tier, gaining five points and putting in high performance levels, drawing with Liverpool and losing narrowly to Arsenal after leading at the Emirates. Striker Aleksandar Mitrović has hit a goal a game, making the kind of impact fans had been hoping for in previous dalliances with the Premier League. Marco Silva has been able to extract the very best from the Serbian, better supporting him through an attacking midfield trio and allowing the target man to concentrate on bringing his strength to bear on his markers. Neeskens Kebano should be okay to continue as the left-sided member of the three behind him, whilst Issa Diop and Kevin Mbabu could both be in line for a start because of the fast turnaround of fixtures.
Pascal's wager
Graham Potter's reputation within the game continues to grow slowly, having seen off the likes of Manchester United, West Ham United, and Leeds United, whilst also gaining a very creditable draw against Newcastle United. In their battles with the various 'Uniteds', his charges have only conceded once, with right-back Joël Veltman looking particularly impressive in a competitive defensive field. Adam Lallana is however out of contention for the midweek match, meaning another game up top for Pascal Groß, With the selfless support of Leandro Trossard, the German utility player has had a new lease of life, hitting three goals already this term.
