Goal fest at Craven Cottage
Let's take a look at my early bet for this round of Premier League mid-week action.
Fulham
In the weekend of derbies, Fulham lost 2-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. But they should in no way be ashamed of their efforts. Fulham came into the game with no intention of staying in their own half, which many had imagined they would, instead away from home against a strong Chelsea attack they scraped together 6 corners and 9 shots (4 on target). In the short-term I think Fulham will start picking up some good results now that they have a new manager in Ranieri.
On home turf, I think the Cottagers could really punish Leicester with their lightning attacks. So far Fulham have not failed to score in a single game this season. At the same time I don't trust their back line, which lacks any real quality.
Leicester
Leicester managed to keep it tight at the back in the weekend's game against Watford - something I didn't think they would be able to when I bet on both teams to score. Watford had a few chances to score, but never really tested Schmeichel in goal. I think the Foxes have a really good chance of scoring in this match considering how bad Fulham's defence is. Vardy has got going finally and Maddison will be riding high on confidence after his dream goal against Watford.
But I don't think Leicester will avoid conceding. I think Fulham's attack will threaten them much more than what Watford's did over the weekend and Leicester have too weak a defensive line to keep a clean sheet. They'll also miss Maguire in the centre. Amartey looks like he won't be available this match.
Betting tips
I think we'll see goals for both sides. That's why I'm going for both teams to score & over 2.5 goals at odds of 1/1 with Bet365.
