Eagles to squeak win over goal-shy Wolves
With a combined 14 goals across 19 Premier League fixtures, few expect the clash between Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers to be replete with the ball rippling the net on many occasions. The Tuesday night game at Selhurst Park could see the hosts break into the top half with a win whilst the visitors are still to appoint a replacement for the sacked Bruno Lage. Read our preview here:
Living on Eze street
Patrick Vieira's side were second best to a struggling Leicester City outfit at the weekend, but still came away from the King Power Stadium with both a clean sheet and a point. Half a dozen first team players are likely to be out for the foreseeable future, though none of them are in attacking areas. A midfield three containing Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze has plenty of verve and drive, though not always the concrete stats to show for it. Jordan Ayew has never been a regular goalscorer up top, a trait he shares with Jean-Philippe Mateta in England.
Listening to a Pod-cast
At the time of writing, the board at Molineux seem no closer to sealing a deal for a new head coach, though current Queens Park Rangers boss Michael Beale has been talked up. On the pitch, the profligacy in front of goal has been chronic, though two of the four strikes they've managed have resulted in wins. Interim manager Steve Davis will probably go with the same backline that kept Nottingham Forest at bay on Saturday, though the real problem has long been in the final third. Daniel Podence is 'top' with a paltry two to his name, and the Portuguese forward always looks lively at the very least. He does need far more help from the likes of Hee-chan Hwang and Matheus Nunes in the absence of Raúl Jiménez if they're to keep their heads above very choppy waters.
Betting tip
Casumo have odds of 6.50 for a narrow 1-0 that will temporarily catapult Crystal Palace up to 10th.
