Chelsea host Group H whipping boys Malmo on Wednesday evening with the Blues looking to move clear of Zenit St Petersburg snapping at their heels in third place. Thomas Tuchel have continued their defensively sound style this season and are still struggling a little for goals. That should not be a problem as they come in as overwhelming favourites against the Swedish side. Malmo could be forgiven for losing a little bit of motivation for the Champions League having lost 3-0 and 4-0 in their opening two encounters but going to face the holders in their background should do enough to ensure they give a good account of themselves.
Background
With the market so short on Chelsea there is always a question on where we can create a nice price from without much of an outright play. Tuchel will want to make a statement against Malmo with the Blues looking unconvincing so far in their Champions League defence. Ben Chilwell has got himself on the scoresheet in the last two outings and may be considered a threat if he gets the nod on Wednesday.
Competition for places is so important in football and the battle between Chilwell and Marcos Alonso for a spot at left wing back is very watchable. Alonso may get the chance with not as many defensive concerns in this fixture.
Goals?
A goals selection is where I am going for this matchup. Chelsea are just to hand out a real drubbing since Tuchel took over which should not be the case with the talent at his disposal. If Malmo can stay locked in for 90 minutes and not lose concentration completely then this bet gives us a lot of leeway.
