Celtic to fill their Christmas sack with goals
Celtic and St. Johnstone will play the traditional Christmas Eve fixture in the SPFL at lunchtime in Glasgow in a quick turnaround of league fixtures. The hosts edged past Livingston 2-1 on Wednesday, whilst the visitors achieved the same scoreline away to Ross County to climb further away from the relegation zone. Both teams will want to celebrate the festive season with another victory. Read our preview here:
Go go, Kyogo!
Ange Postecoglou will have the vast majority of his squad to choose from as the Hoops seek to extend the gap at the top over Rangers back to nine points. Lidl Abada and Daizen Maeda will vie for the spot on the right of the front three, with the former winning out in midweek and laying on an assist for Kyogo Furuhashi. The Japanese forward surprisingly missed out on selection for the World Cup, and could only watch as his national side came agonisingly close to a first appearance in the quarter finals. His stroke against Livi means he's well and truly into double figures once more, and will want to keep up his form to increase his chances of a Samurai Blue recall.
Stylish Nicky
Callum Davidson will be without left wing-back Adam Montgomery, as he is ineligible to face his parent club. Tony Gallagher is in line to make his first start of the campaign in his place. Up top, the experienced duo of Nicky Clark and Stevie May will hope to do the damage. Neither have been prolific this term, but both can be awkward customers for any backline in the division.
Betting tip
With the vast majority of his huge roster to perm from, Postecoglou will be targeting goals as well as the three points. bet365 have odds of 2.20 for Celtic to hit more than three in the game.
