Clarets to boot Everton into relegation danger
Burnley head into Tuesday evening's Premier League fixture with Leicester City at Turf Moor just a single point from safety. The Clarets have married some excellent performances with the required results to put themselves within touching distance of Everton in 17th, losing just once in their last six games. Full of Wout
There was some naturally understandable scepticism in east Lancashire when Chris Wood was sold in the transfer window to then-bottom three rivals Newcastle United. However, the arrival of Dutch international striker Wout Weghorst as his replacement has served to give Sean Dyche's men a more crafty focal point in his tried-and-tested 4-4-2 shape. He has scored once and assisted twice in his first half-dozen appearances, but moreover, he has had even the defences of Liverpool and Manchester United seriously worried. By comparison, Leicester's is far more fragile, so expect to see plenty of aggression up top and out wide.
It's a Madd world
The Foxes had the weekend off because of Chelsea's eventual defeat on penalties to the Reds in the EFL Cup final, so Brendan Rodgers' men make the trip up north somewhat fresher than the hosts. James Maddison scored two superb efforts in the midweek aggregate thrashing of Randers in the UEFA Conference League play-off round, but the all-too apparent weaknesses in their own third of the pitch were still on full display. Jamie Vardy should make the squad after two months on the sidelines, but is unlikely to start ahead of Patson Daka for the time being.
Betting tip
Vardy's return is timely for Leicester, but there is a limit to what the Foxes' frontline can do whilst their backline is all at sea. Burnley are not notoriously high scorers themselves, but despite sitting 18th at the time of writing, have only conceded 30, a statistic bettered only by five sides in the division. A more clinical edge has been apparent since Weghorst made his bow, and Parimatch have odds of 3.90 for a win for Dyche's charges that will seriously worry fans of Everton, Leeds United, and Brentford on present form.
