Expect end-to-end football at Ashton Gate
Two sides with very different objectives meet at Ashton Gate on Good Friday as Bristol City host Reading and it could be an open game.
Clean-sheets are so last year
Stopping the opposition scoring is an art, a lost art in some cases and both of these sides could do with heading back to the classroom for a refresher course. Bristol City will need to tighten up if they are to seal their play-off place and go on to be successful.
The Robins have only kept one clean-sheet in their last 11 Championship outings which will be a concern to Lee Johnson but they have only lost once in the last six games.
Reading are equally leaky at the back. The Royals haven’t prevented the opposition from scoring since the 0-0 at Stoke four games ago and that was their only clean-sheet in 11.
Mo Barrow and Yakou Meite: To you, to me
Reading have seen the relationship between Mo Barrow and Yakou Meite flourish in the last few games with the pair using their pace to great effect on the break.
They could have success again at Ashton Gate as they will probably look to absorb the pressure and then get forward quickly using the pace of these two.
Meite has just signed a new contract which will be music to most Reading fans ears.
Good Friday is not always that good
The two sides have a contrasting record when it comes to playing on Good Friday. The Royals are going to be questioning whether they should rename the day considering they have won none of their last 10 away league matches played on Good Friday, failing to score in their last five. Compare this to Bristol City and you get quite a different picture.
The Robins have won their last five home league matches played on Good Friday (1971, 1972, 1974, 2014, 2017), last losing in 1966 against Southampton
Manager Lee Johnson is also unbeaten in four matches on Good Friday, a nice bonus.
Betting tip
Bristol City and Reading could well be a similar game to the one the Royals faced at Norwich which was fairly open with the Berkshire club using the counter-attack to great effect.
With neither side able to keep a clean-sheet and both in good scoring form backing this one to finish with over 3.5 goals at odds of 39/19 is not bad value at all.

It was a cracking game but both keepers were in good form to keep the score down
