Bees ease own relegation fears by stinging rivals
Brentford welcome Burnley to the Community Stadium in London on Saturday afternoon for their must-win game in the Premier League. The hosts halted their slide towards the bottom three with a priceless 3-1 victory away to Norwich City last time out, whereas the visitors need to reverse a couple of heavy defeats of their own. Erik the Red (and White)
Christian Eriksen successfully came through his first full 90 minutes in a first team match of any description for over half a year without any issues, so the Danish playmaker should be in line to make another start for Thomas Frank's men. His ability isn't in question, and he has already shown enough glimpses to suggest he could be key in the final two months of the campaign. Ivan Toney will be hoping to build on his hat-trick, and his goals will also be crucial to pulling away from the relegation zone.
Tark of the town
The Clarets have suffered successive home losses to Leicester City and Chelsea, and whilst few would've predicted any points from those two fixtures, time is running out to extricate themselves from trouble. James Tarkowski will be tasked with keeping Toney quiet, and will maintain his own personal ambition of staying in the top tier no matter what happens to his current club. Ben Mee's return can't come quickly enough alongside him at the back, but outballs will be required in a midfield that will have a numerical disadvantage.
Betting tip
The winners of this game will have renewed confidence about their league prospects, and betway have odds of 2.15 for Brentford to do so, with possibly nine points separating them from Burnley by 17:00 on Saturday.
