Market sleeping on second string force?
Arsenal travel to Norway on Thursday evening in aiming to continue their good form in both the Europa League and the Premier League.
The Gunners have a 100% record in the competition so far and should be able to wrap up the group pretty quickly, to seal qualification for the quarter-finals.
Bodo/Glimt are way off the pace in the Eliteserien and therefore will be hoping to progress in the Europa League, or at least seal third spot to career on their adventure in the Europa Conference League.
They were second best all over the pitch, as should be expected, in a 3-0 loss at The Emirates last week, and despite the journey the Gunners’ second string should be comfortable once again.
Background
Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe are ruled out for the visitors, but lots of changes should still be expected from the side that beat Liverpool 3-2 at the weekend.
Winning breeds confidence and that can manifest itself in the second string as well as the first choice options to Mikel Arteta.
Eddie Nketiah is one to watch in this encounter having scored in both matches in the competition so far.
The prolific England youth international is averaging 0.72 expected goals (xG) per 90 minutes so far this term, and accumulated 0.97 xG in 83 minutes before being substituted against Bodo/Glimt last week, they could not handle him.
Goals?
Definitely on the cards given these recent numbers. I am going to be taking a goalscorer angle heading into this one, it came up for us on matchday one and there is still value at an odds on price.
Gabriel Jesus’ impact in the first string has been enormous, but Nketiah’s improvement in the last season or so has been great to see and he is using this competition to send a message to his manager.
