Leverkusen to finish Bundesliga season strongly
The final gameweek of the Bundesliga takes place on Saturday. Hosts Bayer Leverkusen have already secured Champions League football next season, whilst visitors Freiburg need to win to assure themselves of a Europa League spot and maybe a seat at the top table, should RB Leipzig lose elsewhere. Though some way off being ever present this term, Czechia forward Patrick Schick has been instrumental in the hosts' impressive campaign, plundering 24 goals in 25 league games. In the last week, Gerardo Seoane and the board have declared he's not for sale in the summer, and fans will be hoping that doesn't turn out to be a false promise.

Promising left-sided centre back Nico Schlotterback has already agreed to join Borussia Dortmund in July, and his eye-catching displays for Christian Schreich's side have seen him called up for Die Mannschaft in 2022. His final assignment for Breisgau-Brasilianer will be to prevent Schick from adding to his considerable tally.

In a season where there have been few real surprises, Freiburg's name amongst the entrants in next season's Champions League would certainly raise some eyebrows.
