Low-scoring affair at the Molineux?
Wolverhampton welcome Newcastle to the Molineux on Sunday afternoon during the Premier leagues gameweek 6. Wolverhampton are coming off the back of a big win at Leeds whilst Newcastle lost big to Manchester United, only 2 points separate the sides making this a rather interesting matchup.
Wolverhampton
Two consecutive defeats after their opening day win raised cause for concern due to the nature of the defeats with their 1-3 defeat to Manchester City being acceptable but 0-4 loss against West Ham appearing as a real kidney-blow.
Back on track
However, Nuno's men bounced excellently back with 1-0 wins against Fulham and then Leeds. Fulham offered little resistance but their victory against Leeds at Leeds was was very impressive given how good Bielsa's side have been since the start of the season.
The best takeaway from these victories was how defensively astute Wolves were which is reminiscent of when they were at their best last season as well as the season before that.
Newcastle
The Magpies have endured a rather mixed start to the season racking up 2 wins, a draw, and 2 defeats. Their goal-difference of 7-9 is a good indicator in regards to how they have performed in the sense that they are, at times, defensively frail but also quite apt going forward.
Offensive firepower
The addition of Callum Wilson has been integral with the former Bournemouth man bagging 4 goals and an assist in 5 outings (great option for Fantasy!). When adding Saint-Maximin and Almiron to the equation, you realise that Newcastle has some real firepower going forward.
So far, it is still quite difficult to analyse precisely how good Steve Bruce's men are given the erratic results but one thing is for sure, Wolverhampton will provide a stern test for the Magpies and will be a good indicator of what is to be expected of them this season.
Betting tip
Due to Wolverhamptons defensive nature along with Newcastle being more than wary of their defence after their 1-4 drubbing against Manchester United i expect this to be a low-scoring affair which is why i will be backing Under 2.5 goals at 1.65 with Betway.
