Title shot or relegation?
West Bromwich welcome Manchester United to The Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon during the Prem's gameweek 24. Both teams will be desperate for points but for very varying reasons making this an extra interesting matchup.
West Bromwich
The Baggies have endured a very, very rough season so far having only won a meagre 12 points from 23 outings. Their goal difference of 18-54 is also by far the worst in the league and, in addition, the near absence of any improvement is worrying to say the least.
Dire situation
Time is running out for a realistic chance at renewing their Prem contract with the 11 point gap to Burnley, and safety, growing dangerously large. With 15 games and 45 points left to play for, big Sams men will need to do something, and quick, if they are to survive.
Manchester United are a very hard nut to crack and not too much can be expected against them, but once the Baggies get past this hurdle, whether it be over or under, a much more favourable run of fixtures awaits them.
Manchester United
The Red Devils may have had a few hiccups costing them valuable points during the last few weeks, but their overall form since the beginning of November has been very impressive.
Still in the running
United have managed 11 wins, 5 draws, and only 1 loss in their last 17 games leaving them at an advantageous 2nd place, 5 points behind their city rivals but with 1 more game played and 2 points above Leicester in 3rd.
If there ever was a season to win, it would be this one due to all the shenanigans currently ongoing and Solskjaer's men performing admirably throughout the season. The one constant has so far been their cross-city rivals Manchester City who are currently on a 10 game winning streak.
That can however change as the pair will face off in less than a month giving United the opportunity of at least catching up to their nemesis, given that they win this and their following games of course.
Betting tip
Manchester United are by far the superior side which is why i will be backing a Manchester United (1) handicap win at 1.87 with Betway.
