Netherlands to continue hot scoring streak
Wales and Netherlands meet at the Cardiff City Stadium on Wednesday evening in the UEFA Nations League for an encounter that must feel like a bit of an anti-climax for both sides. The hosts, having reached their first World Cup for three generations by edging Ukraine at the weekend, now face a side that blitzed rivals Belgium 4-1 away from home. Read our preview here:
Love it or Levitt
Rob Page is poised to ring the changes after guiding the Dragons to Qatar in November. Gone will be the likes of Kieffer Moore, Gareth Bale, and Aaron Ramsey, meaning precious minutes for Cercle Brugge's Rabbi Matondo out wide and Dylan Levitt in midfield. The latter spent last season on loan at Dundee United where he was particularly influential during the run-in.
Bergwijn, right ahead!
Oranje showed the Red Devils' aging defence little mercy in their thrashing of the number two side in men's football, and are unlikely to relent in Wales as they look to increase their chances of qualification to the semi-finals. Tottenham Hotspur's Steven Bergwijn, linked with a move away from London, impressed alongside Memphis Depay in an unconventional pairing, and the duo plundered three goals between them. Stefan de Vrij could start in the heart of defence after being left on the bench last time out.
Betting tip
At the time of writing, Netherlands top the pool by goal difference, and with Belgium and Poland squaring off in the other fixture, are likely to open up a gap after just two matches, both played away from home. Wales' more important task has already been achieved, so Parimatch's odds of 2.80 for the visitors to score more than twice seem a good bet.
