Ukraine vs. Austria

Everything is on the line when the Ukraine and Austria face off in Bucharest in a bid to snag the last qualifying spot from group C (given that the third place does not qualify as well, which i expect this third place to do). Both teams have three points and a +0 goal difference meaning that, if the game ends in a stalemate, Ukraine will finish second due to having scored four goals in their previous group games compared to Austria's three.

Ukraine

The Ukrainian's have, despite narrowly losing their first game against the Netherland's, performed admirably and will have everything in their own hands come Monday. They mounted an impressive comeback against the Dutch and totally controlled the game against North Macedonia with the score of 2-1 not doing justice to their dominance.

Andriy Shevchenko, who hardly needs an introduction, and his men have scored in each of their eleven last games whilst conceding eleven (seven of those goals came against the likes of France, Germany, and the Netherlands) proving that they are very dangerous going forward.

Monday's opposition is hardly at the level of the aforementioned teams and i expect Ukraine to score come Monday as well.

Austria

The Austrian's never had a chance against the Dutch but did what they had to do in their opener against North Macedonia, a game they won with 3-1. That win basically means that they are nearly guaranteed a spot in the playoffs given that they manage at least a point against the Ukraine, however, even if they lose, they might advance given the results in the rest of the groups go their way.

Coach Franco Foda and co. have only managed two wins in their last eight games (against Northern Ireland and the Faroe Islands) which is worrying, to say the least. Furthermore, the Austrian's only managed to score nine times in those eight games with all nine goals coming against really weak opposition.

The Austrian's have a horribly hard time to score against decent opposition and Ukraine is definitely "decent opposition" meaning that to at least avoid defeat, they will really need to turn up come Monday.

Betting tip

Ukraine have definitely been the better-performing side and have proved their potency in front of goal which is why i will be backing Ukraine or draw and over 1.5 goals at 2.15 with Betway.
