Juventus have one hand on ninth straight Scudetto

Juventus can take another huge step towards the title on Thursday when the travel to Udine. With their ninth straight Scudetto in site, can there be any doubt about the result in this one? Have a read of our preview here:

Still not convincing but Juve won’t care

When people say the league table doesn’t lie, they don’t know what they are talking about. The final standing can be very deceptive indeed.

Juventus are not the best team in Serie A this season. They have the most money, the highest-paid players and more depth than anyone else, but as a team there is still some way to go.

Looking at result since the return from lockdown, you can see it in two ways. Firstly, they are doing what champions do and getting results even when playing badly or, secondly, they are reliant on their biggest stars to paper over the cracks of a team that is as good as everyone thinks.

Leaning towards the latter, you know when you are paying Cristiano Ronaldo’s wages you are getting a player who is not only the best in the world but also the hardest working.

CR7 looks after himself better than nearly any other professional – imagine how good George Best could have been if he’d had that attitude!?

With Paulo Dybala also in top form, Juve don’t have to play that well to get results and they should continue to edge closer to the title here.

Udinese looking for better times

Udinese have an illustrious past, well not exactly, but certainly when it comes to recruitment.

They have unearthed some of world football’s greatest talents thanks to an extensive scouting network put in place by the Pozzo family.

Recent times may have seen slim picking for Le Zebrette, maybe due the Pozzo’s attention being focused more on Premier League Watford, a side they also own, but there are some quality players here.

Rodrigo De Paul is the standout talent in the current team, scoring six and assisting a further five goals this season, but players like Bruno Fernandes, Alexis Sanchez, Mehdi Benatia and Oliver Beirhoff are just some of the names to have grace Udine with their talents.

They will need to unearth a few more gems if they are to improve on a difficult 2019/20.

Udinese v Juventus betting tip

Udine has not enjoyed a lot of footballing success in recent years and that is hardly surprising given the nature of the competition, but they will be happy to see the back of the 2019/20 campaign. With that in mind, we are backing Juventus to win to nil at odds of 3.0 with bet365 in this one.
