Expect a tight affair: Torino vs. AC Milan
AC Milan are so far off the pace, they will be lucky to contend for Europe this season. The Rossoneri were well beaten in the Milan derby last week, although I fell on the right side of the fence. They face a Torino side that could genuinely cause them some problems. Who will come out on top? Have a read of our preview here:
Milan still not firing
It is hard to see Milan competing with the top teams this season in Serie A for a number of reasons but mainly because they do not have the strength in depth that their biggest rivals can call upon.
If their Polish striker Krzysztof Piątek doesn’t find the net then Milan’s chances of winning are significantly reduced. You could say that about a number of teams to be fair, but with Milan they genuinely have a lack of depth in key areas compared to the top sides in Serie A.
The start they have made will not have surprised many either. The club have got to get back to bringing through young talent and that may require some patience, but they cannot throw good money after bad in hope of finding the right formula.
Marco Giampaolo will have his plans but the Milan hierarchy need to give him time to bring them to fruition. The instability and turnover of coaches has not led to an improvement in results. Giampaolo may not be the guy to get Milan back in contention for a Scudetto but he must be given time to show what he can do.
A tough act to follow
Walter Mazzarri could find himself the victim of his own success this season in Turin. Il Toro were a genuinely pleasant surprise in 2018/19 and although the football was not always inspiring, it was at least successful.
The start to this campaign has been decent though a defeat in Genoa last Sunday will have been hugely disappointing considering how poor Sampdoria have looked in the early stages.
After opening up the season with two wins, Torino have now lost back-to-back games against sides you’d expect them to beat. They will have to react quickly and taking on a Milan side that are far from convincing could be the perfect remedy.
Torino v AC Milan betting tip
Milan have not looked like scoring many goals, failing to net in two of their four games so far and only netting once each in the others. Torino have been better but Milan will be determined to bounce back so backing this one to finish with under 2.5 goals at odds of 4/5 is our tip here.

As expected this one was a tight game but the 2-1 win for Il Toro leaves this bet out of pocket...just!
