Ulsan to clip Suwon's Bluewings
Behind closed doors, football in South Korea has made a successful return. Suwon Bluewings were the first team to play last weekend and they host Ulsan this Sunday. Can they have better luck this Sunday? Have a read of our preview here:
Bluewings looking for wind to lift them
It was a surreal watch, but the game between Jeonbuk Motors and Suwon Bluewings was actually a very watchable game.
The fast pace and tika-taka style was easy on the eye but also showed why South Korea is home to some technically very gifted players.
Jeonbuk are certainly the team to beat having won the title in each of the last three years while Suwon have not won the league since 2008.
The Bluewings have the feel of a side in rebuild mode but they cannot be taken lightly. The left hand side is particularly dangerous with international star Hong Chul always busy down and Aussie Adam Taggart is a decent focal point in attack.
They perhaps lack the kind of creative depth in central midfield to make give them parity with the top teams but in Ko Seung-Beom they have a player who could develop onto a future star.
Steady progress will be their aim this season which should be fair attainable given the squad available.
Ulsan looking to build of great start
Ulsan looked fresh and in tune when they strolled out last weekend against Sangju. They never appeared to be troubled and were always in control right from the off.
The star man, and a player who will have a big say on whether they can make any sort of assault on the top spots this season, was Junior.
The Brazilian’s scintillating display was reward with two goals and an excellent assist for Ulsan’s third, calmly finished off by Lee Sang-Heon.
It was a dominant performance summed up by the team’s fourth goal which was drilled home from distance by Yoon Bit-Garam.
It was a display that suggests last season’s second-place finish wasn’t a fluke and they will be hoping to make equally light work of the Bluewings in their second fixture of the campaign.
Suwon Bluewings v Ulsan betting tip
If Ulsan are to usurp Jeonbuk’s hold on top spot then they will need to beat sides like Suwon which is why we are backing the away team to win at odds of 1.95 with Betway.
