Norway travel to Valencia looking to end a 19 year absence from any major tournament whilst Spain are in the process of rediscovering themselves under new coach Luis Enrique.
Spain
When the squad for this international break was initially released many were shocked at a few of the omissions. Isco, Thiago, Carvajal and Saul (who was later included due to Fabian Ruiz's omission) were all axed from the squad following La Rojas failure in the Uefa Nations League tournament. On the other hand, said players replacements have been operating at pretty much the same level so at the end of the day it might not be the issue some made it out to be. The depth Spain possess in their squad regarding every position is beyond impressive and they should feel very confident going into this clash.
Norway
The Norwegians come into this fight in impressive form and a recent Uefa Nations League triumph where they topped the group ahead of Cyprus, Bulgaria and Slovenia. Despite having the security of playing in the upcoming Nations League play-off games the Norwegians will still look to finish top 2 in group F and further their chances of qualifying to a major tournament for the first time in a couple of decades. Worth mentioning is that the speedy Joshua King is in fine form and could potentially pose a threat on the counter.
Betting tip
Despite Spain being in a rebuilding period with fresh faces coming in they should have too much quality for an average Norway side to handle which is why i will be backing a Spain (-1) handicap win at 51/100 with Bethard.
For those looking for slightly better odds Spain to win and keep a clean sheet is valued at 71/100.
