High stakes clash in Seville
Sevilla welcome Atletico Madrid to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan during La Liga's matchday 29. Both teams have so far had fantastic seasons with Atleti occupying the top spot whilst Sevilla can be found at 4th. With a league title as well as a Champions League spot at stake, this game will be an exciting one for fans and neutrals alike.
Sevilla
Since losing the reverse fixture with 2-0 back in January, Sevilla are a significantly improved side having won 8 of their 11 games since along with a draw and 2 defeats. Coach Lopetegui's men currently sit at 4th, 11 points behind leaders Atletico, 7 behind 2nd placed Barcelona, and 5 points behind 3rd placed Real Madrid meaning that they are still very much in the race for the league title, given that they win on Sunday that is.
Positive outlook
In addition, Sevilla are an impressive 10 points ahead of 5th placed Real Sociedad meaning that unless they totally lose the plot with 10 games left to play, they will be playing in next years Champions League.
As in previous seasons, the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan has been a fortress, a venue not many teams look forward to travelling too. Sevilla have won 7 of their last 8 home games, the one blip being a narrow defeat against Barcelona. Furthermore, Sevilla have only failed to score in 1 of their last 9 home games with Barcelona being the culprits there as well meaning Atletico should be very wary come Sunday.
Atletico Madrid
Los Rojiblancos are having one of their best seasons in quite a while and can be found at the top of the table, 4 points ahead of Barcelona in 2nd and 6 points above 3rd placed rivals Real Madrid.
Slight hiccup
Diego Simeone's men started the season in incredible fashion winning 16 of their first 19 games, a streak that put them in an incredibly fortuitous position. However, 4 wins, 4 draws, and a defeat in their following 9 games has reduced their lead to a mere 4 points, a worryingly narrow margin to say the least.
Atleti's away stats are, to say the least, incredibly impressive given that they have won 9, drawn 3, and only lost 1 of their away games whilst scoring 21 and conceding only 9(!) in the process. If Atleti are to win the league, they cannot suffer many more hiccups, something i believe they are very capable of avoiding given how well they have performed thus far. Confidence will be high before Sunday's clash, and rightly so.
Betting tip
Both teams have proven to be lethal going forward, Sevilla are fantastic on their home ground whilst Atleti are fantastic on the road which is why i will be backing Both teams to score at 2.05 with Bet365.
