Inter revolution to continue against Sevilla
Europa League experts Sevilla are through to another final after seeing off Manchester United and they will face Inter, high from a thrashing over Shakhtar. Who will take home the crown? Have a read of our preview here:
Sevilla ready to add to their trophy cabinet
It wasn’t a vintage team performance that saw Sevilla get past Manchester United on Sunday, it was a goalkeeping masterclass.
Yassine Bounou played a blinder, making six saves to see off United in a tightly contested game. It should not be a surprise to onlookers that Sevilla have made the final.
They are unbeaten in 20 matches in all competitions this season, only PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have had a run equal or better than that this season in Europe’s top five leagues.
They have won the Europa League five times before including three in a row between 2013 and 2016.
This is a great opportunity to bag the half-dozen. They beat Wolves with a late goal in the quarter-final before defeating United and have shown plenty of grit and determination in a difficult route to the final.
Ever Banega is their key man in the middle while Lucas Ocampos is another player able to take teams apart.
Managed by Julen Lopetegui, they have been excellent this season and should be able to stand their own against Inter.
Conte revolution ahead of schedule
Inter’s improvements under Antonio Conte have been clear for all to see. They finished only a point behind Juventus in Serie A last season and are now heading to the Europa League final.
The manner of their win against Shakhtar will have delighted the fans and coach. The 5-0 trashing took many by surprise given Shakhtar’s quality, but with the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku, both players netted a brace, then goals should be forthcoming.
It was a complete performance from Inter, not something they have managed that often this season.
It bodes well for their hopes of a title charge in 2020/21 and getting their first European title since 2010 would be the cherry on the cake following a very bright campaign indeed.
Sevilla v Inter betting tip
There are too many good strikers to not see a goal in this one but it is unlikely to be a free for all. With that in mind, we are going for over 1.5 goals at odds of 1.36 with bet365 in this one.
