Napoli to carry on their winning ways
Napoli off to a flyer
Napoli are looking to carry on their perfect start to this Serie A season, and manager Luciano Spalletti will have every reason to believe that his side can do this on Thursday evening against Sampdoria. His side have won all of their four opening games, scoring ten times and conceding just twice in Serie A so far. Their form has been formidable, but their convincing performances are perhaps even more worrying for their title rivals. The hosts on the other hand, claimed their first victory of the new campaign with a 0-3 win away at newly-promoted Empoli, with summer signing Francesco Caputo bagging a brace against his former side.
Wisdom in attack for the hosts
The Napoli attack is as creative and fluid as recent years. With frontman Victor Osimhen on some blistering form, coupled with the ever-dangerous Lorenzo Insigne, this Napoli frontline can cause any teams problems. However, Spalletti could opt to save Osimhen's legs for the weekend's game as he did start the Nigerian against Udinese last time out, and instead start Andrea Petagna up top. To find their fifth straight win, their striker will have to be supported by the likes of Hirving Lozano, Matteo Politano and co. Their attacking depth is very impressive, and it'll take some doing for Sampdoria to nullify their threat. The Samp attack is an ageing, but in turn experienced one. 38 year-old Fabio Quagliarella, 34 year-olds Antonio Candreva and Francesco Caputo make up this Sampdoia attacking line, but it's one I expect to cause Napoli problems on their travels.
Spalletti to continue his great start
Breaching this Napoli defence isn't easy, and I think that Samp's options going forwards shouldn't cause the backline of Napoli too many issues. However, Sampdoria are tricky customers and this certainly won't be as easy of a ride as the Udinese thrashing was for Spalletti's men.
Overall, this should be a fairly close game. But Napoli's excellent form and attacking depth should see them score a few against Sampdoria on Thursday evening. That's why I'm going with Napoli to win with bet365.
