Potential goalfest in Brest?
Belarus is the only country in Europe still playing and their Premier League is set to play their second round of matches starting Friday. Can either Rukh or Energetik-BGU continue their positive starts? Have a read of our preview here:
Starting with a win on the road
Rukh Brest will be happy with their start after bagging a 1-0 victory on the road against Dinamo Minsk.
This is a big deal as Rukh Brest finished third in the Belarusian First League last season while Dinamo Minsk ended the campaign fourth in the Premier League. The home side were expected to win fairly easily however and excellent defensive display from the newly promoted side saw them bag an important victory.
Olevskii Kovtun’s header was enough for the Premier League newcomers, who created the same number of chances (6) as their opponents despite being outshot 15-7. Chidi Osuchukwu also deserves a mention for his assist and overall performance.
It will be interesting to see how they cope in their first home game of the new season and whether or not all the global crisis will affect their game.
Beating the big boys
Energetik-BGU will have been delighted with their opening efforts from the first weekend of the season. A resounding 3-1 win against BATE Borisov was fully deserved and it really should have been 3-0 but for a gift given to the visitors when home keeper Artur Lesko slipped when trying to clear a routine backpass.
However, his blushes were thanks to two goals from Jasurbek Yaxshiboev and another from Dusan Basic.
Energetik-BGU have pace to burn with Jeremy Mawatu and David Teklo Teklu Tweh in the side, the latter bagging two assists against BATE, so this should be a decent watch.
Rukh Brest vs Energetik-BGU Minsk betting tip
Both sides won their opening fixture last weekend and did so in style. Energetik-BGU hitting three past 15-time champions BATE while Rukh bagged a victory on the road. With that in mind, we think backing there to be over 2.5 goals at odds of 8/11 with bet365 is the way to go here.
