Quick runs the key for RCB
Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to bounce back to winning ways in a tough match against the Mumbai Indians in match 10 of this year’s Dream11 IPL. RCB have suffered the biggest defeat to date in this season competition with their 97 run loss against Kings XI Punjab.
The King’s nightmare
The last thing Virat Kohli would have wanted after his horror show in the field and with the bat last time out, would be a showdown against the reigning champions the Mumbai Indians. The RCB captain dropped two chances that he would deem as regulation to help KL Rahul hit 132. Despite needing 207 to win, RCB would have still fancied their strong batting line up to get close to chasing down the big target. But when they were reduced to 4-3, the chase was over before it could get going. 1 from 5 for Kohli finished off a bad evening for the Indian Captain.
One thing that RCB have been criticised for over the last few years of the IPL is their lack of strength with the ball and unfortunately for them, their weaknesses are starting to show again. With the new ball, Umesh Yadav and Dale Steyn have shown very little control. The pair of them went for 92 runs in 7 overs last time out against Kings XI and didn’t take a wicket. Yuzvendra Chahal has been one positive for the Royal Challengers, the leg spinner has been landing his googly well and any leg spinner who can spin it both ways is dangerous in T20 cricket.
Getting the ball rolling
The current champs will be happy with how they bounced back following their opening day defeat to the Chennai Super Kings. A 90 run second wicket partnership between captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav set the game up for Mumbai as they set KKR 195 to win. Their opening bowlers were emphatic with the new ball, displaying figures of 8-0-55-4 between them. Jasprit Bumrah was back to his best, claiming figures of 3-0-5-2 before Pat Cummins got stuck in to him at the end of the chase.
Mumbai will be keen to be ahead to the game in terms of securing a place in the playoffs this year. They have been known to leave their surge for a top 4 space until late in the competition, but I am sure the management at Mumbai would prefer an easy run to the title this year.
Match Tip
RCB always have a strong batting line up so it is hard to bet against them scoring quick runs in the powerplay. Mumbai’s Rohit Sharma will look to continue his good form with the bat but he will have to score quickly to out shine the RCB top order.
I am backing Royal Challengers Bangalore to score more in the powerplay at 1.95 with LeoVegas.

Another good powerplay for RCB with 59 being put on between Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal. Mumbai could only get to 35-2 from their first six.
