Rangers to grab third straight win under Beale
Glasgow Rangers face their second away SPFL game in the space of less than 72 hours when they travel to Dingwall to take on Ross County on Friday night. Michael Beale's men snatched victory from the jaws of defeat deep into injury time at Aberdeen on Tuesday, but Gers fans will be hoping for a less stressful method of victory this time around. Read our preview here:
Laidlaw in a stable
Malky Mackay's troops lost last time out to St. Johnstone after a late brace by the visitors saw the hosts, already a man down, surrender their slender lead. The Staggies now lie 10th and nine points off their vanquishers, very much staring downwards rather than up. The aptly named goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw is bound to have a stern examination under the floodlights, with his long kicks out needing to find their man more than ever to relieve the pressure on his outfield teammates. Striker Jordan White has decent form as of late, and is definitely the hosts' best bet to grab a goal against a surprisingly leaky visiting defence.
Scott's expedition
Canadian midfielder Scott Arfield climbed off the bench to make the visiting supporters go berserk after one of the most dramatic and quickfire doubles in the club's long and storied history. The 34 year old is certain to be rewarded for that piece of folklore by starting on Friday night in a double pivot. The duo at the base of the midfield must do far more ugly work to prevent the four goals conceded in the last two matches under Beale is only a blip and not a trend. The proximity of the fixtures is bound to mean a reshuffling of the pack, regardless of the defensive concerns.
