Does Redbull really give you wings?
Two heavyweight title contenders face off during matchday 4 of the German Bundesliga. RB Leipzig welcome none other than FC Bayern München to the Red Bull Arena and hope to turn their 2 point lead over second placed Bayern into a 5 point lead.
RB Leipzig
Julian Nagelsmann could not have hoped for a better start to life as Leipzig coach after 3 wins out of a possible 3. They recently outclassed Mönchengladbach 3-1 away from home which is definitely one of the harder games the Bundesliga has to offer and beat a strong Frankfurt side prior to that too.
Another extremely positive fact is that superstar to be Timo Werner recently signed a new contract tying him to the club for another 4 years and thanked both the club and fans in the best possible way, by scoring his first hat-trick.
Praise given where praise is due, so the positivity train continues. Leipzig have only lost one of their last 19 home games and that came against Dortmund last season, they are in other words extremely hard to beat on their home ground.
To round it off, creative assist-king Emil Forsberg is finally fully back from one of his many injury layoffs meaning that he can yet again provide the important assists Leipzig somewhat lack when he is missing. Vamos!
Bayern München
Niko Kovac's men were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw against Hertha in their opening game but put that disappointment behind them and brushed aside Schalke and then Mainz with a combined goal difference of 9-1.
Bayern have, per usual, done an amazing job during the summer transfer window bringing in both Coutinho and Perisic to fill out the void left by Robben and Ribery, pretty impressive replacements to be frank.
Just to give you a little perspective regarding the depth in Münchens squad lets go through their bench during their last game against Mainz. Going back to front we have Sven Ulreich, Javi Martinez, Jerome Boateng, new signing Michael Cuisance, Leon Goretzka, Alphonso Davies, Serge Gnabry, Corentin Tolisso and Thomas Muller. A bench that would no doubt finish top 3 which is insane.
This is far from a make or break moment but if they lose, they'll suddenly find themselves 5 points behind Leipzig which is not unsurmountable but will make life unnecessarily difficult. But if they win, they will have everything in their own hands again which is obviously the way they want it.
Betting tip
Both teams look incredible going forward and come into this game full of confidence which makes it slightly hard to bet on, but due to their attacking prowess i will be backing Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at 71/100 with Bethard.
