Conte them out - Spurs to fail in Marseille final
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has described his side's final UEFA Champions League group game against Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome as precisely that - a final, showdown match. All four teams in Group D can still qualify with just two points separating top (the visitors) from bottom (the hosts). Spurs need just a draw to ensure passage through to the knockout stage, but that is a dangerous position to be in psychologically. Read our preview here:
Payet forward
Igor Tudor's men have picked up just a single point from their last four Ligue 1 fixtures after previously going toe-to-toe with PSG, though they did at least end their three-match losing streak with a 2-2 draw at Strasbourg, though the nature of that game will have felt more like a fourth defeat as they crumbled in injury time. Their mission is clear on Tuesday night - beat their more fancied opponents and preserve what could still be a promising campaign. Huge occasions require big game players, and there are few who rise to those like Dimitri Payet does. Though 35 now, he is still more than capable of being a menace in between the lines alongside former Arsenal prospect Mattéo Guendouzi. Only Eric Bailly is set to miss out through injury.
Nothing to Croat
Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur popped up from yet another Heung-min Son corner to cap a 3-2 comeback win in their weekend clash with AFC Bournemouth, with many observers ready to type and tweet the riot act about another below-par result and performance. There's little doubt that the Conte formula for success still isn't working as desired, and the defence as a collective will have to do far better on Tuesday night to prevent another disappointing outcome. Neither Richarlison nor Dejan Kulusevski are set to take part, while Ryan Sessegnon might play on the right to accommodate Ivan Perišić, who has had a decidedly underwhelming start to life in north London.
Betting tip
Marseille are priced at 2.75 with Casumo to get the win they need to go through and dump Spurs into the Europa League.
