City to rekindle form?
Manchester City welcome West Ham United to the Etihad on Sunday during matchday 26 of the Premier League. Both teams will be attempting to end rotten runs of form and will also be hoping that this is the beginning of something new.
Manchester City
The Citizens have lost two games in a row but have performed far under their usual level for quite a while now and you sort of get the feeling that it is now or never for Pep's men if they are to steer clear from 'crisis' discussions.
Still a job to do
City know that the title race is over but there is still the matter of honour/prestige and obviously qualifying for the Champions League so do not expect anything short of a ruthless City side.
Solid at home
Despite all the bad media, City still have the "decent" home stats of eight wins, two draws and two defeats making them the 3rd best Prem home side thus far, only 1 point behind Leicester.
Goalscoring machine
Their stats of 31 scored and 12 conceded in 11 games is second only to Liverpool, but not by much and i am having an increasingly hard time seeing how they will not improve on those stats this coming Sunday.
West Ham
The Hammers are, in comparison to Sundays opposition, already in crisis mode after winning only six out of their 25 games played this season. A remarkably disappointing haul.
Bad time to face City
David Moyes men lost the reverse fixture with 0-5 at London Stadium and should honestly be dreading this matchup against a Manchester City side desperate to turn their own fortunes around.
Torrid goal difference
West Ham's stats of 10 scored and 18 conceded in 12 away games says it all, a leaky defence that lets them down time and time again and an attack that has its moments but at the end of the day, scores too few goals.
In for a long night
After losing a 3-0 lead in their collapse against Brighton in London, exchanging 3 points for 1, i cannot see anything other than a West Ham side void of any confidence here.
Betting tip
In order to find any value in this matchup i will be backing a Manchester City win and Over 3.5 goals at 7/10 with Betway.
