Manchester City to continue unbeaten streak?
Manchester City welcome West Bromwich Albion to the Etihad during the Premier League's, midweek, matchday 13. Manchester City will be looking to build upon the relatively small unbeaten streak they have going whilst West Brom are in desperate need of points if they are to exit the relegation zone, read on for more!
Manchester City
The Citizens are coming off the back of an absolutely lacklustre Manchester derby that ended 0-0 but should not fret as they had lost 3 out of the 4 derbies before that. 1 point is definitely better than 0, especially against their main rivals.
Efficient against bottom-half teams
Prior to the Manc derby Pep's men handsomely swat aside both Burnley (5-0) and Fulham (2-0), two sides that are basically at the level, if not better than what West Brom are.
The sky blues will be, given that they win on Tuesday, only 3 points behind top dogs Tottenham and Liverpool who both dropped points on Sunday, a situation City should take advantage of if they are serious about challenging for the title.
Vastly improved defence
Guardiola and co. seem to have progressed since their defeat to Tottenham and i believe West Brom will have very serious issues against a Manchester City defence that has not conceded in 6 outings, all competitions included.
West Bromwich Albion
Slaven Bilic's men are not having the best of times since their promotion earlier this year after having only managed to scrape together 6 points in 12 outings.
Tough time back in the big leagues
The Baggies goal difference of 9-25 is very indicative of how things are going, horrible both up front and at the back. Making matters worse is the fact that West Brom cannot even beat the teams at their level, with the absolutely atrocious Sheffield being the only exception.
Bilic and co. must now brace themselves for both a hectic and difficult fixture list which includes bouts against Manchester City, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Leeds and Arsenal in that order. Stranger things have happened but if West Brom want to avoid relegation come May, they really need to start performing better but unfortunately for them, that probably wont happen on Tuesday.
