No rest for Man City

Manchester City will host Bournemouth on Saturday in what should be another routine win for the Blues. I do expect however that this will be a luke warm performance from a Man City who are experiencing a heavy match schedule at the moment.

Man City will almost certainly win this match. They usually steam-roller weaker opposition. Betting on Man City is a reliable if not particularly lucrative experience. The only real value you can find in Man City is when they break the norms by underperforming. I think Saturday could be one of these occasions.

City have just played an exhausting game in Lyon, in which they drew 2-2. They fielded a full strength squad against an energetic Lyon side that took the lead on two occasions. Now it's only a few days rest before they'll be taking on Bournemouth. But already on December the 4th, two days after the Bournemouth match, they'll travel to Watford. We all know about Pep's almost perverse love for the rotation system, and I'll go out and a limb here and suggest he will be resting some key players for this match. I guess he will rest Aguero if Jesus is declared fit - he is still a doubt according to the physios - and one of Sane or Sterling.

Bournemouth are not known for a 'park the bus' style of football but if we look at their last five games against Man City we can see that the games, in which Man City have won all of them - have ended with under 4.5 goals.

I wouldn't exclude the possibility of Bournemouth snatching a goal at the Etihad, with both King and Wilson back in goalscoring form, but we should also remember that they are experiencing a bad run of results, with 3 losses in a row.

I will be going for a Man City win in combination with a bet on under 4.5 goals in the match. City just can't win every match with tennis match scores. With their heavy schedule I forsee this match as the game in which we get a Man City that are content to do just enough. I am putting quite a lot into this, with 8 units.
